Why I Created This Space
When I look at the different circles within You Grieving Me Too, I realize something powerful:
I have a story in almost every one of them.
For a moment, that made me question myself. Have I really experienced that much hurt? Have I been through too much?
Then I realized that hurt does not define me.
Hurt can come from heartbreak, divorce, losing someone we love, broken friendships, family situations, disappointment, rejection, job loss, life changes, and even dreams that did not turn out the way we hoped.
But those experiences are only pieces of our story.
My hurt taught me lessons. It taught me accountability, strength, forgiveness, boundaries, growth, and most importantly, healing.
That is one of the reasons I created You Grieving Me Too.
I wanted to create a space for people who may look at their own lives and wonder, “Why have I been through so much?” A space where you don't have to pretend you're okay. A place where you can share, connect with someone who understands, build friendships, find support, and begin healing without feeling judged or rushed.
Because grief is not only about death.
Sometimes we grieve relationships. We grieve marriages. We grieve friendships, jobs, pets, our health, lost time, old versions of ourselves, and futures we thought we would have.
My experiences may be part of what brought me here, but they are not what define me.
And neither does your pain define you.
You are more than what happened to you.
My hope for this community is that we learn from our pain, grow through it, support one another through it, and eventually realize:
The goal isn't to never experience hurt. The goal is to never allow what hurt us to become who we are.
Welcome to You Grieving Me Too.
A place to be heard.
A place to connect.
A place to heal.
And a place to remind each other:
You grieving? Me too.
